From January 10, 2019, the pile foundation construction of the open cut section of the South extension of Shunhe Expressway began. The construction section starts from about 30 meters south of Nanyuan intersection of the railway in the north and ends at Luneng Lingxiu residence in the south, with a total length of about 2.2 kilometers, including 734 meters of open excavation section and 1469 meters of concealed excavation section.

During the construction of the project, the fast lane ensures two-way eight lanes, and the construction time is from January 10 to 25. During the construction period, 9.5m from the East and west sides (motor vehicle separation belt + 6m non motor vehicle lane + 2m sidewalk) shall be closed as the operation area of pile foundation construction machinery; The existing motor vehicle lanes on the East and west sides are occupied as temporary access roads for non motor vehicles, and guardrails are adopted for isolation. The sidewalks on the East and west sides are reserved for 2 meters to ensure the passage of pedestrians.

The South extension of Shunhe Expressway (xiongshan interchange to South Ring Expressway) starts from xiongshan interchange in the north and South Ring Expressway in the south, with a total length of about 5.1km; The width of the red line is 70-105 meters, and the width of the planned green line is 120 meters. The estimated investment of the project is about 3.98 billion yuan. The construction contents of the project include tunnel + overpass + ground expressway, ground road, bridge, comprehensive pipe gallery, rainwater, sewage, street lamps, traffic facilities, road greening, water supply, heat, telecommunications, gas and other pipelines, and the transformation of a South Ring overpass at the junction of the south end and the south ring city. The project will enter the site on November 12, 2018 and be completed and opened to traffic by the end of August 2020.

According to the relevant person in charge of the South extension project of Shunhe expressway, the South extension of Shunhe expressway will realize multi-level and full coverage of BRT + rail transit + ordinary bus + tourist bus, maximize the high-quality road resources, tilt to slow and public transport, make public transport travel more convenient, give priority to public transport signals, implement green wave traffic, intelligent monitoring of the whole line, and use information technology to improve traffic management level and travel service level. After the completion of the project, the north and South Ring highways will join hands to connect the main and secondary trunk roads along the line, and the whole line will take about 15 minutes.
