    On April 20, the closing ceremony of the Tanzanian new WAMI bridge built by Chinese enterprises was held in msata city. Chinese ambassador to Tanzania chenmingjian and Tanzanian Minister of national engineering makamembalawa attended the ceremony.

    The new WAMI bridge is 310 meters long and 11.85 meters wide. It is a two-way single lane bridge across both banks of the WAMI river., In sharp contrast to the old WAMI bridge not far away. Makamembalawa, Minister of the Ministry of national engineering of Tanzania, affirmed the project and hoped that the construction enterprise could continue to maintain a fast and high-quality construction rhythm.

    The upper part of the bridge is a five span prestressed concrete continuous box girder structure. The bridge deck is a two-way two lane asphalt concrete pavement with a total width of 11.8M. Sidewalks and reinforced concrete crash barriers are set on both sides. The project started in 2019. In order to solve the technical problems, the project team continuously optimized the scheme, carefully carried out the technical safety disclosure, used Midas modeling to simulate the closure for dozens of times, repeatedly simulated and checked the stress conditions and carried out field measurement taking into account the actual wind force, temperature and other factors on site, and finally innovated the method of rigid framework welding + counterweight to control the relative elevation difference of the bridge deck and the deviation error of the central line within 2mm, successfully realizing the closure of the high mark of the bridge.
