The CEO clarified that although the actual construction cost depends on the bid received, the expenditure amount of the project will remain within the same range because the funds are in foreign currency. In early 2020, the agency said it had paid $2.45 million to 77 Dar es Salaam residents to pave the way for the construction of a 23.6 km BRT phase III project.

Basic Instruction

Dart is a public transportation system based on public transportation. It connects the suburb of Dar es Salaam with the central business district. The center began operation in May 2016. The first phase of construction was completed in December 2015, with a total cost of 159.6 million euros, funded by the African Development Bank, the world bank and the Tanzanian government. The first phase of the BRT system, with a total length of 21 km, extends from kimara via ubungo to kivukoni, Morocco and gerezani.
