Senior officials of the Tanzanian government revealed that the Tanzanian government has obtained a total loan of US $245 million from the world bank for the third and fourth phases of the construction of BRT.
The third phase of the BRT project involves the construction of an infrastructure project with a length of 23.6km from GONGO La mboto Nyerere road in the city center and some infrastructure projects of Uhuru road from TAZARA to kariakoo gerezani, while the fourth phase involves the construction of 16.1km infrastructure along Bagamoyo and Sam Nujoma roads.

Ronald lwakatare, chief executive of Tanzania's rapid transit authority, said they had received $148.1 million for phase III and $99.9 million for phase IV. "The funds obtained will contribute to the actual construction of BRT infrastructure, and the government will be responsible for compensating people who will be affected by the project," he said.
